Radiophonic art festival 'Radiaator' in collaboration with MKDK announced!
PRESS RELEASE
Tallinn 2011 - European Capital of Culture presents:
On March 17-18, at EKKM (Estonian Contemporary Museum of Art) an international radio art festival 'Radiaator' takes place for the very first time in Estonia.
Radio art is a form of sonic art that examines radio broadcasting as an experimental and social sound environment and utilizes radio transmission and other possibilities of sound technology. At the radio art festival, LokaalRaadio, which has been functioning since 2006, opens its web-station - a station that will deal with radiophonic art as a practice of contemporary art, welcoming co-operation and cultural dialogue.
The festival takes place at EKKM (Põhja pst. 35, Tallinn) and following radio maniacs will present themselves:

Sarah Washington & Knut Aufermann (GB/DE)
Paul Devens (NL)
Nebojsa Milikic (SRB)
Eesti Elekter (EE)
LokaalRaadio (EE)
eleOnora (EE)
Furthermore - in the listening room of 'Radiaator' festival, special programs by following performers will be presented:
Anna Friz (CAN)
Shawn Pinchbeck (CAN)
Erkki Luuk & Raul Keller (EE)
Roomet Jakapi & Katrin Essenson (EE)
At the time of the festival an FM-transmitter at the frequency of 107,2 Mhz will be narrowcasting in the vicinity of EKKM. The shows can be also listened as a webstream from LokaalRaadio website.

International radio art festival is presented by Tallinn 2011 - European Capital of Culture, organizers of the festival are MTÜ Kirbutsirkus and LokaalRaadio in co-operation with MKDK (the Music and Art Dynamic Group) and EKKM.
Our special thanks go to the supporters: Tallinn Culture and Heritage Department, Goethe-Institut Tallinn, the British Council, Hotel Metropol. Curators of the festival: Katrin Essenson and Raul Keller.
Tickets are sold on the spot at the time of the festival.
The two-day passport of the festival 15/12, one-day ticket 10/7, single tickets 6/4.
