Radiophonic art festival 'Radiaator' in collaboration with MKDK announced!

Tallinn 2011 - European Capital of Culture presents:

On March 17-18, at EKKM (Estonian Contemporary Museum of Art) an international radio art festival 'Radiaator' takes place for the very first time in Estonia.

Radio art is a form of sonic art that examines radio broadcasting as an experimental and social sound environment and utilizes radio transmission and other possibilities of sound technology. At the radio art festival, LokaalRaadio, which has been functioning since 2006, opens its web-station - a station that will deal with radiophonic art as a practice of contemporary art, welcoming co-operation and cultural dialogue.

The festival takes place at EKKM (Põhja pst. 35, Tallinn) and following radio maniacs will present themselves:

At the time of the festival an FM-transmitter at the frequency of 107,2 Mhz will be narrowcasting in the vicinity of EKKM. The shows can be also listened as a webstream from LokaalRaadio website.

31.01.2011 IMPROTEST: PRIIT LEHTO & RIVO LAASI

The first concert of 2011 will unite the forces of instrumentalist, composer and bassist Rivo Laasi, who is one of the founders of the first free improvisation group Tunnetusüksus and among others he has worked with the top musicians of free improvisation, such as Ken Hyder, Tim Hodkinson, Werner Lüdi Sunnymoon, Skirmantas Sasnauskas, Jacques DiDonato etc and vocalist Priit Lehto, his examples of improvisational collaborations could be Anto Pett, Kent Carter, Etienne Rolin, Francois Rosse, Robert Jürjendal, Anneliis Poll, Tanel Ruben, Jaak Sooäär, Henri Pok, Tanel Joamets, Mixel Etxecopar, Taavi Kerikmäe, Meelis Vind, ensemble Weekend Guitar Trio and Improloo.

IMPROTEST is concert series organized by non-profit organization Improtest to present the best parts of free improvisational music. The concerts of this series take place since 2005 once a month. Curators: Mart Soo and Taavi Kerikmäe.
